other suggestion for this dialog on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/116504 "When creating a new item, the "name" field should be selected by default Binary package hint: alacarte When creating a new item, the "name" field should be selected by default. That's the default behaviour for "New Menu" and it's easier that way, since you don't have to grab your mouse..."
This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
