Steps to reproduce:
1. Random name error.
2.

Stack trace:
I take a icon from bar of top and I place on to desktop of gnome. I rename the icon to space (' ') and the name of icon change to your description.
Detail: the icons that happen are only of gnome aplications for what I can to see.

This happens due to an Ubuntu patch applied to gnome-desktop:

I'll submit a patch for other renaming problems fixed on the way to the mailing list, thanks for your help.
