Description Sebastien Bacher 2007-05-17 15:33:51 UTC
The bug has been opened on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gedit/+bug/113252

"Binary package hint: gedit

It would be nice to be able to save the current configuration, and then be able to load it from the shell, that way you can have your gedit configured for .txt or for programming in the different languages. Example I like the background white, with out line numbers for .txt, and a darker background, and line numbers for scripting in python. Being able to have an option to load those preferences from the shell would also be helpful that way we could create another entry in the main menu with those configurations"

The idea is very similar to what bug 392023 asks for
Comment 2 Carlos Soriano 2018-05-22 07:43:02 UTC
Closing due to triggering a bug in the Bugzilla part of the migration tool to GitLab. Please feel free to replicate once gedit is migrated.
