Description Vincent Untz 2007-05-11 12:47:50 UTC
Since we're getting lots of bugs with useless stack traces, marking all those bugs as NEEDINFO is just killing the NEEDINFO status. We should close the bugs as INCOMPLETE.

See http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-bugsquad/2007-April/msg00003.html

According to Vincent on the mailing list:

If we do the change, we should ask the submitter to reopen the bug in case he/she supplies more information.

Changes "needinfo" to "incomplete" and adds a reference to opening a new bug.

A proposal. This can be used as a base at least!.
Comment 4 Christian Kirbach 2007-05-20 22:21:48 UTC
last patch contains broken English. I suggest

"and reopen this bug report as soon as you attached a better trace. Thanks in advance for your efforts!",
Comment 5 Diego Escalante Urrelo (not reading bugmail) 2007-05-21 19:17:33 UTC
Isn't it "attach" instead of "attached" in that sentence?

Thanks for taking the time to report this [% terms.bug %].\nUnfortunately, that stack trace is missing some elements that will help a lot to solve the problem, so it will be hard for the developers to fix that crash. Can you get us a stack trace with debugging symbols? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so and reopen this bug report as soon as you [attached] a better trace. Thanks in advance for your efforts!
Comment 6 Christian Kirbach 2007-05-21 20:08:28 UTC
Which is precisely what I used :) Then again I am not a nativ speaker.

perhaps ".. when you attach a better trace" is a correct conditional sentance :)
Comment 7 Diego Escalante Urrelo (not reading bugmail) 2007-05-31 01:34:42 UTC
So, any opinion on wording from native speakers?
Comment 8 Olav Vitters 2007-06-05 20:07:59 UTC
Fixed the error in the patch.
