Description Steve Fox 2007-05-04 16:02:28 UTC
I'm reading the PDF version of Mel Gorman's book "Understanding the Linux Memory Manager" and taking notes in gedit.

http://www.phptr.com/content/images/0131453483/downloads/gorman_book.pdf

When I try to copy words with underscores, they paste into gedit with spaces instead of underscores.

For example, page 15 has a line which reads

"This struct is always referenced by its typedef pg_data_t"

but when I paste I get

"This struct is always referenced by its typedef pg_data_t"

This also happens when pasting into Firefox and Evolution, so I'm assuming it's not a gedit bug.

Looks like a poppler bug, it's reproducible by exporting to a text file with pdftotext utility. I've already forwarded it to freedesktop bugzilla.

Thanks.
