Distribution: openSUSE 10.2 (i586)
Gnome Release: 2.16.1 2006-11-28 (SUSE)
BugBuddy Version: 2.16.0

hard to say, this is a vague description.
Comment 2 Pacho Ramos 2007-09-03 11:30:40 UTC
I have exactly the same problem with POP3 retrieving

After being out during August, I have more than 9000 mails and evolution doesn't have finished yet downloading them. Evolution started download three years ago and there are still 4391 messages to download

Thunderbird is much faster than evolution downloading pop3 mail :-/

Seems similar to http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=311656

Do you have junk filtering enabled ? It slows down performance many time.

Can you please try in later version 2.22.x or 2.24.x and report back, thanks.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug; however, closing due to lack of
response of the reporter, sorry. if you still see this issue with a current
release of evolution (2.26.0 or later), please reopen. thanks in advance.
