Description drago01 2007-04-20 13:34:12 UTC
Please describe the problem:
I tested the new phase2 auth features with 0.6.5 an noticed this problem:
when I connect to a wep-dynamic / phase2 MSCHAPV2 / EAP-TTLS network using "connect to other wireless network" it works fine. but nm is unable to reconnect to this network again without doing this steps again. it finds the network but fails to connect and asks for a wep key.

Steps to reproduce:
see above

Actual results:
it did _not_ remember the network(settings)

Expected results:
it should be able to connect to the network again after I disconnected from it.

Does this happen every time?
YES

Is the network hiding its SSID? What driver and kernel version do you have?

Yes the network is using a hidden SSID. I don't remember the kernel version that I was using back there but the driver was ipw3945.

Seems like what was happening is:

NM finds the BSSID in the scan list and trys to connect but for some reason it failed to connect and it asked for a wep key.

I have updated to F8 and therefor using 0.7 now which has other issues with the hidden ssid.* But when asking for a key in this case it detects the network as dynamic wep and let me enter username/passwort.

* Already mailed/reported to you if you want I can fill a seperate bug about them.

Please, look the Bug 372124 and try to apply the workaround using nm-editor.
Does it fix the problem?
