Description Thaddeus Morgan 2007-04-12 08:48:54 UTC
The output when converting a 16-bit audio stream to an 8-bit audio stream is very noisy, probably because no dither was added to the original signal before conversion. Please add 8 bits of random noise to the original audio stream before converting to an 8-bit audio stream. This will help reduce the noise, at least in the quiet parts of the audio stream.
