GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 42599
MP3 previewing not supported in List View
Last modified: 2011-09-13 04:32:42 UTC
* DESCRIPTION MP3 previewing not supported in List View * STEPS TO REPRODUCE 0) Launch Nautilus 1) Navigate to a directory containing at least one MP3 file (I used /h/eli/mp3), and View as List. 2) Place the mouse pointer on top of an MP3 file, and leave it there for several seconds. * ACTUAL RESULTS Nothing. * EXPECTED RESULTS MP3 previewing behavior similar to Icon View (per Arlo) ------- Additional Comments From andy@eazel.com 2000-09-05 11:13:18 ---- I agree that we should do this, but it's not trivial. If we're going to do it, it should be done during usable. ------- Additional Comments From eli@eazel.com 2000-10-16 19:44:02 ---- Batch-assigning QA ownership of remaining bugs to eli@eazel.com ------- Additional Comments From don@eazel.com 2000-12-15 09:33:08 ---- Batch move all 254 PR3 P5 bugs to 1.0.1. ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2001-09-09 20:38 -------

Updating bug status...
Since this bug hasn't been touched in 3 years I just wanted to poke it again and see if anyone was aware of any attempts to address it. I think with Gnome 2.24 some improvements were made to the List View attempting to bring it up to feature parity with the other views, though this and proper DnD seem to be lacking. Any news for the outside world regarding this?
Nautilus 3.1.4 from git master: 0. Start Nautilus 1. Edit > Preferences > Preview > Sound Files: Preview = Local Files only 2. View > List 3. Go to directory with a mp3 file 4. Mouse over the mp3 file 5. Nothing happens 6. View > Icons 7. Mouse over the mp3 file 8. Nothing happens either
This is not relevant anymore using Sushi.
