What were you doing when the application crashed?
I was viewing the open clipart (http://www.openclipart.org) downladed png's and svg's (v0.18). Under section: people > bodypart
Only the first imatge in png format was viewed as thumbnail. It crashed while attempting to view the svg version of the first image.

Bug 428208 has a better stacktrace.

This is a cairo problem, not a gThumb problem. I have reported the issue at: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10598.

Closing this bug a "NOTGNOME".
