GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 423678
window title doesn't show a CD's volume name
Last modified: 2011-10-28 16:01:18 UTC
The bug has been opened on https://launchpad.net/bugs/97158 "Binary package hint: nautilus When I insert a CD its volume name shows on the desktop, but not on the window title if I open the volume. Please see the screenshot: http://img459.imageshack.us/img459/4409/pantallazono7.png"
Confirming, this is still relevant.
Confirmed. This won't be so hard to fix, so please fix it.
seems to be an easy-fix, I stick a gnome-love keyword
I cannot reproduce this in gnome 2.24, so please confirm with 2.24 or close.

Created attachment 120578 [details] window title = label Screenshot on a Gentoo system. No patches to relevant packages. Maybe it's ubuntu ?
I was just about to take a look at this. But, just to be clear, this isn't exclusive to CDs. For any mount, the title bar will show the mount point. Since it is consistent, is this behavior we want to change?
This behavior can be quite irritating. Have a look at this: http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/460/baddrivelabel.png
And this crawls in tab titles, see http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/9641/screenshotit.png
Created attachment 148990 [details] Could not reproduce with 2.28.1 I could not reproduce this bug with nautilus 2.28, it seems to have been fixed.
I can reproduce it in 2.28.1.
Is this a dup of Bug 534898 & Bug 653837?
I cannot reproduce this for CDs and the window title (as that is what the bug was originally about) in 2.32, hence closing as OBSOLETE. If other issues are still valid in recent GNOME versions (3.2 or 3.0), please file separate bugs.
