Description Dean Sas 2007-03-17 16:45:38 UTC
gimmie-applet shows Firefox as being one of my "favourite apps". I don't think I've ran it in months and epiphany is set as my default browser in gconf. It'd be sensible to try and read the value in gconf first.

Using version 0.2.4.repack-0ubuntu1

Set the default browser by looking at gconf

Attached patch works for me. I'm not sure if that gconf setting is ever not set, just in case, if it can't read the value from gconf it falls back to firefox.

This patch works, *but only* after removing ~/.gimmie-bookmarks
Comment 3 Alex Graveley 2007-05-01 02:10:36 UTC
This patch is too fragile, unfortunately. The desktop file for a given browser could be named anything, not necessarily "program.desktop".

Distributions can patch Gimmie to use their chosen default bookmarks, and existing users can just unfavorite and refavorite their browser of choice.
