"Only the first the items get a number to avoid clashes."

The above doesn't parse.  Maybe the second "the" should be "10" or something
like it.

This problem has already been fixed in the development version and the stable branch. Will be available in gtk+ 2.10.12 and in gtk+ 2.12.0
