Description Sebastien Bacher 2007-03-15 09:26:58 UTC
The bug has been described on https://launchpad.net/bugs/92086

"As in summary, using Totem, Windows Media Files don't open (in local and/or in streaming) even if the codec is installed.

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: i386
Date: Wed Mar 14 00:39:04 2007
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 7.04
...
I use the default Ubuntu totem, so I think it's the totem-gstreamer.

Here's an example...

mms://play.ansa.it/ansalive/spot_20070305_15sec_vista.wmv

I'm sorry if it's in italian but anyway you'll clearly see that it doesn't work...

Thanks for your help."

This is what I get in totem:

ERROR ffmpeg :0:: Profile value 2 is forbidden (and WMV3 Complex Profile is unsupported)

** Message: Error: Internal data flow error.
gstbasesrc.c(1664): gst_base_src_loop (): /play/source:
streaming task paused, reason not-negotiated (-4)

ERROR ffmpeg gstffmpegdec.c:1643:gst_ffmpegdec_frame:<ffdec_wmv30> no codec context
ERROR ffmpeg gstffmpegdec.c:1643:gst_ffmpegdec_frame:<ffdec_wmv32> no codec context

Since it works with pitfdll, I assume that the main problem is with ffmpeg.

we need a new url to test this ! Lots of modifications have happened in both mmssrc and gst-ffmpeg/ffmpeg since then.
