Description Frédéric Bellaiche 2007-03-13 01:56:35 UTC
Please describe the problem:
After upgrading to gnome 2.18.0, it is not possible to contact gnome-session.

For exemple, gnome-session-properties returns "could not connect to the session manager" (gnome-session is running). Or one has to manualy launch metacity with the --sm-disable option to actually get the WM to run.

Steps to reproduce:

Actual results:

Expected results:

Does this happen every time?

Other information:
gnome 2.18.0 + gtk 2.10.9 (or 2.10.10)
gnome-session 2.18.0
Comment 1 Pascal Terjan 2007-03-14 06:52:26 UTC
I can confirm this on Mandriva but upgrade to 2.18 is not yet complete here.
The parts taht where updated and may have an impact are :

glib1 2.12.11
gdm 2.18.0
gnome-applets 2.18.0
gnome-media 2.18.0
gnome-utils 2.18.0
gnome-vfs2 2.18.0
libgail 1.18.0
libgnome2 2.18.0
libgnomeui2 2.18.0

Updating to gnome-session 2.18.0 and gnome-vfs2 2.18.0.1 does not help.

I now am almost up to date and it is not fixed
(I still need gtk 2.10.11, libgnomeui 2.18.1 and evolution 2.10.0 but I don't think that will help...)
