Description Sebastien Bacher 2007-03-05 17:26:02 UTC
That bug has been opened on https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/totem/+bug/89072

"Binary package hint: totem

totem-mozilla 2.17.92-0ubuntu1 don't ask to install codecs like totem.
..."
Comment 1 Bastien Nocera 2007-03-11 23:25:49 UTC
We removed the popups in 2.17.x, so it doesn't ask anything indeed...
Comment 2 Sitsofe Wheeler 2007-03-18 18:17:58 UTC
That seems unusual. Was doing automatic codec installation (as totem does on Ubuntu Feisty) considered too intrusive for the plugin? It seems a shame give that people would be more likely to encounter a codec that needs installing while browsing today's non-flash videos...
Comment 3 Bastien Nocera 2008-02-07 17:21:30 UTC
Automatic codec installation was also filed as bug 484947. The playback errors not showing is a dupe of 457337.
