GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 411719
gedit crashed with SIGSEGV in gpa_node_get_path_value()
Last modified: 2009-11-27 05:17:20 UTC
That bug has been opened on https://launchpad.net/bugs/87485 "Binary package hint: gedit I am usnig Feisty Herd-4 in i386. this happens during print preview, but also in a few other occasions. Whenever I have a sequence of operations within the print menu, the program can sudenly disappear without warnings ... libgnomeprint2.2-0 2.17.91-0ubuntu1 ..." Debug backtrace for the crash:
+ Trace 113627
Thread 1 (process 21121)
Are you still seeing this? Do you have any steps to reproduce?
Distribution bug comment: "I have upgraded to herd5 (with xorg-7.2) but this problem still has not gone away. The steps to reproduce this crash: 1. open a medium- to large- sized plain text document (> 7 pages, the larger the better) 2. go to file -> print, change some of the settings (e.g. print two pages on one page), go to print preview (within the print window). 3. close the print preview window. In some occasions it crashes now and the gedit window disappears altogether 4. if this does not crash gedit, repeat step 1-3 a few times and it will crash easily."
Is this still an issue in GNOME 2.24/2.26? Note that gnome-print has been deprecated and superseded by GTK+ printing functionality since GNOME 2.16. This means that gnome-print is NOT actively maintained anymore. If your reported issue is still valid for GTK+ printing, please feel free to file a bug report against gtk+/printing. If it is OBSOLETE, feel free to close this report.
Closing this bug report as no further information has been provided. Please feel free to reopen the bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME 2.28.1 or later, thanks.
