Steps to reproduce:
1. Start nautilus in a terminal in KDE
2. Display a directory containing 17 small pictures and text files
3. Maximise Nautilus
4. Nautilus stops repainting the screen and hangs forever, doing something obscure.

It doesn't crash, but doesn't seem to return ever, either... I've waited 15 minutes. 100% able to reproduce.
