GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 408292
Multimedia Systems Selector shouldn't show up in menus
Last modified: 2007-02-16 11:12:17 UTC
Given that most of those settings work "out-of-the-box", the .desktop shouldn't be shown in the menus at all. We should keep the gstreamer-properties capplet around though, as it is useful for basic debugging.
Probably... You want to still do this for 2.18? (I don't mind so much, I basically agree with you, I think I even proposed this as future direction when I committed the {gconf, auto}{video, audio}sink elements in gstreamer and enabled them in totem.)
Created attachment 82618 [details] [review] gnome-media-hide-mss.patch Patch for 2.18 would be good, but only if this doesn't break docs.
We're not in total freeze yet, unless you consider this UI freeze break. I don't think it is...
I've sent a mail to d-d-l and gnome-doc-list about it. Unless there's an outcry from the doc writers, I'll commit this tomorrow.
