Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Unfortunately, that stack trace is missing some elements that will help a lot to solve the problem, so it will be hard for the developers to fix that crash. I have visited ubuntu forums and have found folks with similar problem. It seems some of us have something in common, we installed mouse cursor theme - crystalcursors and comixcursors. i have uninstaled both packages and rebooted. i have installed dbg packages to post proper dbg info. I am still waitting for crash to happen. Has not yet since reboot. will keep you posted.

im sorry for posting in wrong panel. im new at this. but right now im open to any suggestions.
I went ahead and tried to solve the problem by installing gnome-panel 2.16.2 from gnome website. i compiled and rebooted. issue has not yet surfaced. will keep updated.

Is it the same stack trace? It should really be fixed in 2.16.2.
After compiling 2.16.2 and issuing command "# rm -rf .recently-used.xbel" problem has been fixed.
