Description Michael Schumacher 2007-01-27 23:25:16 UTC
On http://docs.gimp.org/en/gimp-concepts-running-language.html, it should be mentioned that what the user has to set is a "environment variable". This is a useful search term in case the descriptions don't match the user's platform.
Comment 1 Róman Joost 2007-01-28 16:35:47 UTC
I'll fix it with the following appended sentence:

In LINUX: in console mode, type LANGUAGE=en gimp or LANG=en gimp replacing en by fr, de, ... according to the language you want. Background: By using LANGUAGE=en you're setting an environment variable for executed programm gimp here.

I'll reassign that bug to get it fixed in other translations. Reassign to Nickolay for Russian. Reassign it back to me after you've fixed it.
Comment 3 Nickolay V. Shmyrev 2007-02-10 12:19:05 UTC
Done
Comment 4 Róman Joost 2007-02-12 08:02:10 UTC
Marco, would you be so kind to reassign it to the next translator after you fixed the bug?

Cheers!
Comment 5 Marco Ciampa 2007-02-12 16:32:05 UTC
Ok Roman, italian part fixed. Now I would like to assign it to someone registered un bugzilla (for example the nl author). How can I discover if a translator is registered and with which account?
Comment 6 Róman Joost 2007-02-13 07:00:58 UTC
The Product (Gimp-manual) should link to the bugzilla product page, where developers are listed. If you're unable to see the mail addresses to other developers, assign the bug back to me.
Comment 7 Marco Ciampa 2007-02-13 12:15:58 UTC
Many thanks for the hint (I'm a newbie with bugzilla, you see, but I'm learning...). Reassigned to you since the other bugzilla developers already has fixed the problem. The bug should be reassigned to ther nl developer but he isn't logged in the gnome-help bugzilla.
Comment 8 Róman Joost 2007-02-14 07:42:34 UTC
I'll reassign it to Manuel to get it fixed in the spanish translation.

es patch

Here's the Spanish patch. I'll reassign the bug to Alex, who's next.

As Marco, I'm also a newbie to bugzilla, so be patient with me :)

The right patch, without gzip compression.
Comment 11 Axel Wernicke 2007-02-15 22:34:41 UTC
I don't think this juggling with bug-assignments helps to solve bugs that affect multiple languages. I posted a proposal for a solution on the gimp-docs list.
Comment 12 Róman Joost 2007-03-03 14:33:56 UTC
I'll set this bug to FIXED in hope that other translators will fix it in their translation and we come up with much better way to handle bugs affecting multiple languages.
