Description Róman Joost 2007-01-13 16:26:58 UTC
I'd like to have the bugs for the GIMP manual listed for it's own product on the gnome bugtracker. There are already bugs filed for the GIMP help component. This would lower the amount of bugs for the GIMP developers to manage as well.

Our homepage is at: http://docs.gimp.org

Thanks a bunch!

I think it'd make more sense to change the default assignee and qacontact for the help component so that it's not the same mailing list as used for most all the other gimp components. That would let you separate all the email for the two; would that cover your needs?
Comment 2 Róman Joost 2007-01-13 18:39:19 UTC
Unfortunately not. I'd like to have the bugs seperate. The reason behind is to manage bugs, feature reports and possible milestones seperately from GIMP (as well as the default assignees).

We discussed this on our mailinglist:

Comment 3 Sven Neumann 2007-01-25 07:59:05 UTC
The user manual is pretty much a separate project, with its own mailing-list, svn repository and separate release schedule. It seems to make sense to also give it its own product on Bugzilla.

Roman: please go to http://bugzilla.gnome.org/editproducts.cgi?action=edit&product=GIMP-manual&classification=Other and add at least one component. After that, we can reassign bugs. We can either let you do that using bugzilla (would generate a lot of email), or you can wait until one of us gets enough time to write a script on the server to reassign the bugs (may be a while; I'm kind of swamped and Olav may be as well). Let us know what you want...
Comment 5 Róman Joost 2007-01-27 08:55:13 UTC
Thanks a lot Elijah! Sven offered help to reassign the bugs from GIMP. Moving the existing bugs by our own is the prefered way.
Comment 6 Christian Kirbach 2007-05-13 21:26:44 UTC
I can see we now have a Help component with a seperate qa and assignee address.
Does that cover all your wishes?
Comment 7 Elijah Newren 2007-05-13 22:28:56 UTC
I think you meant 'product', not 'component' -- right, Christian? I created GIMP-manual a while ago to fix this bug but left it open in case I needed to reassign bugs. Just didn't come back and close it after Roman's reply in comment 5. Doing that now.

btw, thanks for handling all these requests Christian! It has helped a lot. :)
