Description Pedro Lino 2007-01-08 10:18:27 UTC
Since build 1.7.0 (the last that worked), the dialog from creating a new chart shows no options i.e. no chart types to choose from and therefore it is impossible to create a new chart (even the Forward button is inactive).

Curiously the Insert button is always active which allows to insert an empty chart :)

This sounds like an installation problem. Are you sure you don't have some
old files left-over from previous versions?
Comment 2 Pedro Lino 2007-01-08 15:12:20 UTC
Nope. I uninstalled everything and reinstalled to make sure before posting the bug report... If this was an installation problem why would it work when I reinstall build 1.7.0?

If it was, somehow, finding the leftover files from the 1.7.0 build then
I suspect that 1.7.0 would be quite happy whereas newer versions might
not be.

But I am guessing here -- I really don't know.
Comment 4 Pedro Lino 2007-01-08 15:30:42 UTC
I agree with you. But I uninstalled everything before testing each version. Even deleted the Gnumeric folder (I assume Gnumeric doesn't scatter files in any other folders)
Comment 5 Emmanuel Pacaud 2007-01-08 15:48:33 UTC
Please check graph plugins are installed/enabled in Tools->Plugins dialog.
Comment 6 Pedro Lino 2007-01-08 16:12:28 UTC
All plugins are enabled and the files are present in the C:\Gnumeric\lib\goffice\0.3.5\plugins\ folder
Comment 7 Pedro Lino 2007-01-08 16:57:19 UTC
I reinstalled 1.7.0 and compared the folder contents. I have no idea if this is related but a lot of the folders under LC_MESSAGES had 3 files which are not present in 1.7.6: libgnomecanvas-2.0, libgnomeprint-2.2 and libgnomeprintui-2.2
Maybe they were outdated...
Comment 8 Jean Bréfort 2007-01-11 13:34:30 UTC
the reason is that cb_plot_types_init does not find the images (image != NULL failed).

It might be a consequence (or a duplicate) of #354874
Comment 11 Emmanuel Pacaud 2007-03-11 09:48:33 UTC
Let's consider this bug fixed then.

Pedro, please reopen if you still see this issue with current SVN trunk.

Is there any charitable soul who can build a Win binary of the 1.7.8 release so I can check it?
Comment 13 Pedro Lino 2007-05-31 14:56:33 UTC
Not fixed in 1.7.10. Thanks to Jody for building a Win32 binary!
Comment 14 Andreas J. Guelzow 2007-06-23 05:18:57 UTC
This bug should have been reopened.
