What OS/Distro?
What version of SLIB do you have installed?
Comment 2 manfred eggers 2007-01-01 21:11:32 UTC
Sorry I forgot. I just realized the missing information, when you asked for it.

I upgraded from SuSe Linux 10.1 to 10.2 using the 5 CD ISO images from the server.

According to YAST my SLIB-Version is "3A1-79".

The problem started with missing require file, then printf, then hashtab.
I tried both with Gnucash version 2.0.3 and 2.0.2-9 with same result. Several attempts to delete and reinstall did not work

Hope this is everything you need.

If you're using the pre-packaged version have you tried contacting SuSE about it?

Unfortunately this error still points to a guile/slib problem, but gnucash is known to work fine on SuSE 10.1 and 10.2 when using their packages or the packages built by Mr Rauch.

re Manfred: As Derek already said, others have successfully started gnucash on opensuse-10.2, so we need more information to track this one down. You said this is slib-3a1-79. Which "guile" is this?

Guile Version is 1.8.1-24

There is a gnucash 2.0.4 packaged up and available for suse 10.0 - 10.2 on ftp://rauchs-home.de/suse/ or on the mirror ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/suser-crauch/

Does the error go away with that package? Then it probably was a bug in the package.

Not if I updated the gnucash to this version using the above rpm´s.

However I fornmated everything and installed new suse 10.2 , no update this time. Everything works fine now. Even the upgrade to 2.0.4 Gnucash.

I should have done a clean install from the beginning. When will I learn this.

Thanks anyway, appreciated your support.

Okay, then closing it since it's working.
