option to not display hidden files doesn't apply directly after rename

That bug has described on https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/47932 "... Renaming it to a hidden file however, does not remove the file from the view, but leaves the file name as it was clickable ..."

This bug was reported against a version which is not supported any more. Developers are no longer working on this version so there will not be any bug fixes for it. Can you please check again if the issue you reported here still happens in a recent version of GNOME and update this report by adding a comment and adjusting the 'Version' field? Again thank you for reporting this and sorry that it could not be fixed for the version you originally used here. Without feedback this report will be closed as INCOMPLETE after 6 weeks.

the issue is still reproduce able with nautilus 2.32 i.e. if you rename a folder to .something the old name is shown and clicking on it opens the folder. the folder hides on refresh(f5)

A different solution to the scenario described in this bug is being implemented in bug 342819 , when the patches there get accepted we can close this bug as a duplicate, or alternatively, as a wontfix.
The resolved status is wrong, it's not resolved yet, reopening. You can mark it as duplicate if you prefer though
