im gconf-editor finde ich bei dem
Key /desktop/gnome/background/picture_options
folgenden _deutschen_ Text:

Legt fest, wie das von »wallpaper_filename« festgelegte Bild dargestellt
werden soll. Zulässige Werte: »none« (Keins), »wallpaper« (Tapete),
»centered« (zentriert), »scaled« (skaliert) sowie
»streched« (gestreckt).

Der Bug ist das das keyword streched nicht existiert, statt dessen ist
aber das Keyword zoom vorhanden.

=> "streched" should be "zoom".

And there's a typo too. It should be »stretched«, not »streched« (missing t).
