Description Patrick OCallaghan 2006-12-14 23:12:30 UTC
Some users would like to group messages to and from a correspondent in the same place. Vfolders can be used for this but are a drag to set up. Message->Create Rule->Search Folder on Sender goes part of the way but then one has to manually add rules for To: and Cc:. I propose a menu entry called "Search Folder on Correspondent" or alternatively "Search Folder on Sender and Recipients" which creates the additional rules automatically.

for evolution;

No menu item, but new filter types "Sender or Recipients", which filters based on From/To/Cc/Bcc headers for both filters and search folders.

Milan, you might have to just add a menu entry on Message->CreateRule> sender+recipents and to the context menu also.

I thought this approach is better because the menu entry means where to get data from, but the filter itself means where to check. When you get data from all those header fields then it'll be quite mess. Thus I thought choosing where to get data (with picking right popup/menu entry) and then change the scope of the filter rule, instead of adding new rule and copying all the addresses, is simpler and quicker.
