GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 384435
Spinner in window list when window is loading.
Last modified: 2018-01-24 13:37:45 UTC
Looks really nice and indicates that the application is currently loading. Now there is no indication except the mouse pointer. Here's a video mockup by jimmac: http://bomahy.nl/hylke/tango/feedback_complete.avi
Video is at http://jimmac.musichall.cz/images/guimockups/xgl/feedback_complete.ogg There are three things I like in this video: + the way the icon changes when clicking on the launcher (this would be a nautilus/panel improvement) + the way the other button in the tasklist moves to make place for the new button + the throbber.
You think any of this is possible?
Yes. We just need someone with time to do it :-)
Created attachment 140285 [details] Spinner screenshot Something like this?
Created attachment 140286 [details] [review] Add spinner to startup applications Adds spinner from epiphany [1] when starting application. Also changed the text from "Starting [app]" to just "[app]". (I'm no ninja at build scripts so take a look at them before committing) [1] Actually took it from nautilus. Also changed the speed from 125 ms to 75 and of course a smaller spinner.
Would this be reviewed if ported to GtkSpinner?
