Description Keith RHODES 2006-12-05 17:34:33 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Following a link (rtsp://helix2.nyctmc.org:7070/broadcast/Camera09.rm) from GoogleEarth, Totem started but halted showing the message:
Internal GStreamer error: negotiation problem.
Please file a bug at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter-bug.cgi?product=GStreamer

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start GoogleEarth, turn on the "Google Earth Community" layer
2. Fly to webcam, 6th avenue, 34th street, NY
3. Click on the webcam, then on the link in the pop-up.
4. when prompted for an external helper application, click "Launch" to start totem.

Actual results:
Totem starts, but then an error dialog pops up:
Internal GStreamer error: negotiation problem.
Please file a bug at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter-bug.cgi?product=GStreamer

Expected results:
The webcam stream shoul dbe displayed in the Totem window.

Does this happen every time?
I have repeated the problem five times over two days.

Hi Keith,
thanks for taking the time to report this.

What's your gst-plugins-ugly version? You can find out by typing the line
           gst-inspect-0.10 playbin | grep Version
on a command line (=gnome-terminal window).

Could you run totem from the command line like this:
           export GST_DEBUG_NO_COLOR=1
           export GST_DEBUG=*:5
           totem rtsp://helix2.nyctmc.org:7070/broadcast/Camera09.rm 2> dbg.log
[... wait for error, then quit totem ...]
           gzip dbg.log
and then attach the dbg.log.gz file to this bug report please?
