Description Sebastien Bacher 2006-12-04 10:19:29 UTC
That bug has been opened on https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/gnome-system-monitor/+bug/66790

"If a process has very long command line there is no way to view it all, there is no way to copy command line into clipboard.

Even if command lines can be viewed now in:
a) tooltip on the process name
b) by adding column "Arguments" to the process view,

neither can expand to show very long command lines, nor used to copy command line into clipboard.

i need a gtk+ API for that, to allow copy to clipboard of treeview lines.

And I'm about to drop libsexy because it crashes to much and is not maintained, so no more tooltip.

Asked the following question in the downstream report, and as we are waiting for an answer, setting this bug to NEEDINFO:

System Monitor 3.3.4 has a brand new Process Properties dialog. If we would add a button to copy the value of the selected property, would it fix this bug for you?

[Adding missing "QA Contact" entry so system monitor bug report changes can still be watched via the "Users to watch" list on https://bugzilla.gnome.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email when the assignee is changed to an individual.]

seb128: Can you please answer comment 2?
