GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 378250
Weird playback if disk is ejected
Last modified: 2006-11-28 20:27:07 UTC
This bug was reported to the Debian BTS. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=396247 "I was listening to a CD ; I used Nautilus to eject the CD but did not stop sound-juicer prior to doing that ; as a result sound-juicer started playing a creepy loop of sound (kind of what you hear in movies like "The Ring")"
I can confirm that I can recreate this.
Added original reporter to CC list since there will be soon a patch to test.
Created attachment 77079 [details] [review] sj-media-remove.patch I can't reproduce this behaviour neither on ubuntu edgy with SJ 2.16.1, nor on Slackware 11.0 with SJ 2.14.5. As soon as I eject the cd, SJ stops playing. Nevertheless I made a patch which should fix your problem. Richard or Andrea, can you test it, please?
Hi, I tested your patch with s-j 2.16.1, and I can confirm that it solves the bug for me. Thank you!
Sven, I didn't understand you had this problem too. Well, now we can just wait, sooner or later Ross will notice this bug report :)
Luca, please commit that patch to cvs. :)
Done. Patch committed to HEAD and bug closed.
