Description David Fritsch 2006-11-22 18:10:39 UTC
Please describe the problem:
I receive the following message while attempting to configure the download to install:

checking for GST... no
configure: Package gstreamer-0.10 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `gstreamer-0.10.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'gstreamer-0.10' found
configure: error: no gstreamer-0.10 >= 0.10.3 (GStreamer) found

I tried both plugins "good" and "ugly"

Steps to reproduce:
1. Download package
2. Untar package
3. In terminal window, run "./configure"

Actual results:
installation fails

Expected results:
I was hoping to run "make" and "make install"

Does this happen every time?
yes

please point the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable to the gstreamer-0.10.pc file as stated in the error message.
