Description Bastien Nocera 2006-11-18 14:48:19 UTC
Evince 0.5.1

The file at:
http://www.ville-yzeure.com/renvois%20docs/pdf/Yzeuremag95.pdf
can't be opened.

I get the error:
Error: Document has not the mandatory ending %EOF
on the command-line.

But there are 2 problems:
- The error message when opening this file is rubbish:
Failed to load document (error 3) 'file:///home/hadess/Desktop/Downloads/Yzeuremag95.pdf'
- The file can't be opened. It most likely is possible to open it with Acroread.

It's a poppler bug, please report it to the poppler component on bugzilla.freedesktop.org.
Comment 2 Bastien Nocera 2006-11-18 17:50:59 UTC
I opened https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9075 for the poppler problem. Reopening for the crappy error message.

We should probably fix this in poppler-glib too. I'll look at it.
Comment 5 Bastien Nocera 2007-10-22 18:32:47 UTC
The original reproducer isn't there anymore. I've asked the webmaster for it.

Comment 7 Carlos Garcia Campos 2008-03-18 19:18:32 UTC
I've just fixed the poppler side in order to provide better error messages when document fails to load. I'll fix evince as soon as poppler 0.8 is released.
Comment 8 Carlos Garcia Campos 2008-12-30 16:17:39 UTC
This bug was already fixed.
