unable to save empty password
Last modified: 2012-08-06 18:14:11 UTC
Distribution: Debian testing/unstable Package: Evolution Severity: minor Version: 2.6.x Synopsis: unable to save empty password Bugzilla-Product: Evolution Bugzilla-Component: Mailer Bugzilla-Version: 2.6.x Description: Description of Problem: I fetch my mails from a local mailserver, so that I don't need passwords. Because of that, I use an empty password. Everytime starting Evolution it asks me for this password. If I opt-in the checkbox "save password", it asks me ever time when fetching the mails, if I don't opt-in it asks me only when I restart evolution Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. In the options, set "Legitimation" (don't know if that's the correct word, in the german translation it's "Legitimationsart") to "Login" (german "Anmelden") 2. enter an empty password 3. fetch/send mail Actual Results: Expected Results: How often does this happen? Always Additional Information: ------- Bug created by bug-buddy at 2006-11-10 19:11 -------
But why does it require a password (legitimation / authentification) at all then if there is none? I don't understand why it is set up like this...
Agreed on WONTFIX. Fringe corner case not worth supporting.
