GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 368436
Hotkeys are being captured when typing in search bar
Last modified: 2007-01-05 17:51:35 UTC
When I am typing in the search bar, Banshee is still recognizing all shortcut keys - including (unmodified) N, B, spacebar. Hence, when trying to type anything with any of the playback control keys, the letter does not make it into the search bar and instead controls my playback. Found this when I installed openSUSE 10.2b1 (Banshee 0.11.2), and upgraded to HEAD and found the same annoyance... Haven't had a moment to test this at home on any other boxes...could be a GTK/gtk-sharp issue for all I know...
I did commit a change to the way the hot key stuff works for 0.11.2, but I cannot reproduce what your problem is. Everything is working as expected for me.
I can reproduce this here with banshee CVS on Ubuntu Edgy... I'll look into this later if possible...
I can't reproduce it on either SLED (GNOME 2.12) or openSUSE 10.2 (GNOME 2.16) with Banshee 0.11.2/CVS. Everything is working as it should.
The problem is apparently either with some keyboard configurations or maybe some hardware - a modifier key is *always* active.
Created attachment 75783 [details] [review] Only check for modifiers we care about This fixes the issue by only checking for modifiers we care about instead of no modifiers at all.
Fixed, committed, etc. Good day.
