Description Sam Morris 2006-10-25 13:32:08 UTC
Distribution: Debian testing/unstable
Package: totem
Severity: Normal
Version: GNOME2.15.91 (null)
Gnome-Distributor: Debian
Synopsis: Crash when streaming HD Quicktime movies
Bugzilla-Product: totem
Bugzilla-Component: general
Bugzilla-Version: (null)
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.16.1)
Description:
Description of the crash:
Trying to play the movies at
<http://www.apple.com/quicktime/guide/hd/nasaspaceshuttle.html>. After
clicking on one of the quicktime buttons, the standalone player opens
and starts to play the movie. However the video area is black and there
is only silence, puncuated by short, loud bursts of noise. After a few
seconds, totem crashes.

Additional Information:
Downloading the actual movie file from
<http://images.apple.com/movies/us/hd_gallery/gl1800/nasa_shuttle-r_m720p.mov>
and playing it in Totem works fine, but launching 'totem
http://images.apple.com/movies/us/hd_gallery/gl1800/nasa_shuttle-r_m720p.mov'
causes a similar crash. I'm attaching the info that totem prints to the
console.

This is with the Xine backend BTW, perhaps it's just a bug in Xine
streaming of QT movies.

This is a crash in xine-lib's ffmpeg copy. Please file a bug directly with xine-lib.
