That bug has been opened on https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/67683

"hi,

how it is possible to have evolution asking for mail delivery notification on each outgoing mail ?

I've found the option to add it manually on each message, but it woul'd be more practical if it could be set once and for all.

regards
Mathieu

in my company, most users only send internal mail for which they need to know if the recipient has read it.

Since we have moved to ubuntu (and use evolution as primary mail client), they regret that functionnality (that was/is present in thunderbird).

We prefer using Evolution for mail/calendar and because it's better integration to Gnome (like right click on a file, "send to...", "send as : email (evolution)" <= as thunderbird is installed, it's not present in the list (should I report a bug for this ?))

Buddies, this is also important to me! And I'm also using Evo in my company, so read confirmations are pretty important to have something in the hand if a client claims there was no mail.

On the 'do you really want that' question I have to say YES! well, I need it! a filter on the connected exchange server is moving the message into a specified folder, so i will not be noticed about that. only if I need to find a confirmation, I go into this folder to find the confirmation.

This is a very standard function in each major mail application! so I wonder if this will not become a setting in evo?!

for evolution;

Whom didn't expect that, then new strings added in this patch.

cool stuff!
keep in mind that getting this in requires announcement to gnome-i18n@ and gnome-doc-list@.
also, can you change
"Whether insert read receipt request to every message by default."
to
"Whether a read receipt request gets added to every message by default."
or something like that?

Milan, looks fine. Just test and commit it with Andre's string suggestion and announce them as well. Thanks.
