Description Eric Stacey 2006-10-21 22:51:37 UTC
What were you doing when the application crashed?
I had an audio CD in the drive. I was just opening the program. The GUI shows, but the program crashes right away.

this is a crash in libmusicbrainz

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
However, this application does not track its bugs in the GNOME Bugzilla. We kindly ask you to report the bug to the application authors. For a selective list of other bug tracking systems please consult http://live.gnome.org/Bugsquad/TriageGuide/NonGnome.

If the affected third party application has a bug tracking system you should investigate whether a bug for the reported issue is already filed in this system. If it has not been filed yet please do so. Also ensure that both bug reports contain a link to each other.
Thanks in advance!

We're seeing lots of duplicates of this, but can anyone replicate it on demand? An upstream maintainer has tried this and can't replicate it.
Comment 27 Eric Stacey 2006-11-14 17:43:00 UTC
I cannot. I just opened the program again and it worked fine.

Comment 45 Joshua Bugeja 2006-11-16 13:22:42 UTC
so i installed valgrind and ran sound-juicer with the cd already in the drive using:

valgrind --log-file=test.txt sound-juicer

i have attached the report below as valgrind report.
Comment 46 Ross Burton 2006-11-16 13:26:40 UTC
Hm, nothing interesting there. Did SJ crash inside valgrind?

Comment 48 Joshua Bugeja 2006-11-16 13:33:16 UTC
yes it did. the bug report window appeared and i pressed close on it after which SJ quit too.

shall i try again or it's not necessary?
Comment 49 Ross Burton 2006-11-16 14:26:11 UTC
Oh how annoying, valgrind didn't catch it. :/

So, in summary, we think that if you have this bug then your Linux distribution needs to update the version of the musibrainz library.
