GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 362656
crashes if no hald/dbus is running
Last modified: 2008-07-18 20:36:40 UTC
I installed a new system and hald/dbus were not yet stated automatically. when I run rhythmbox 0.9.5 I got the following warnings and then a crash. ** (rhythmbox:28289): WARNING **: Could not connect to system bus: Failed to connect to socket /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket: No such file or directory ** (rhythmbox:28289): WARNING **: hal_initialize failed: Failed to connect to socket /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket: No such file or directory
This may be a duplicate of bug 353483 or bug 348993. What version of totem do you have installed? Can you get a stack trace?
As reported in the initial comment it is "0.9.5". I've tried to get a stacktrace but didn't got one when I've tried the first time. After I used "set follow-fork-mode child" gdb hung :(. I will try again later. Btw. its on gentoo and I guess I will get a "0.9.6" very soon.
