Description Corey Burger 2006-10-10 06:22:04 UTC
Just a reminder to Brian about our discussion in Boston. Turn the session and language types from a button that launches another dialog to a simple drop down box, or potentially a combo box, ala the user list.

This is a great suggestion. I would recommend that this be managed by extending the GREETER_ITEM_TYPE_LIST to support combo boxes in addition to it's current implementation that uses a TreeView/ListView (e.g. like used by the FaceBrowser).
Probably could extend the XML tag so it would have a element called "type=combo" or something. Then a little bit of glue to make the callback function manage changing language/session so it works the same way as the current dialog pop-up works. This would look much better and make these two dialogs far more integrated with the theme directly. Popping up the dialog looks ugly.

This is now in CVS head.

Brian, you rock!

Should we notify the doc team to update the gdm theme creation docs?
Comment 4 Brian Cameron 2006-10-24 19:47:09 UTC
Thanks. I've already updated the docs/C/gdm.xml documentation to explain these new options, and the translaters should update them. Right now this change is only in CVS head. 2.16 is under l10n freeze. I could backport this change to 2.16 (without the docs due to string freeze - people can check the CVS head docs to see how to use it).

What do you think?

I think shipping with .18 is fine.
