Description Sebastien Bacher 2006-10-09 08:34:16 UTC
That bug has been opened on https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/gnome-system-tools/+bug/64719

"After the upload of the new system-tools-backends (1.9.7-0ubuntu1) and liboobs (0.6.0-0ubuntu1) that fixed [#59690 [network-admin] Static IP configuration doesn't adds the default route to the gateway], I get the following behavior.

If I only change the gateway on my wireless connection (eth1) to 192.168.0.200, it is correctly changed in my /etc/network/interfaces file, but I've got no more WiFi connectivity because two fields are overwritten. I get :

wireless-essid 192.168.0.200
wireless-key s:1

I'm used to have a correct network name "ubuntu" and a correct wireless key too.
...
I can confirm that.
Changing the gateway with network-admin change also wireless-essid & wireless-key in /etc/network/interfaces.
...
I've got the same problem since the problem with the gateway is solved.
Now essid and key are corrupted.
So I have to repair it manually with iwconfig everytime I start my computer.

The fix is already in CVS, apologies for the annoyance

Great news! Thanks for your efforts in GST, I really like these tools :)

And there's no pbm: I'm using Ubuntu Edgy (devel version). As long as the final release is fine it's ok :-D
