GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 360201
gnome-cups-icon needs to be patched for tray icon transparency
Last modified: 2008-01-29 13:10:56 UTC
If you use a different panel background color (ie.: black), when you print, the gnome cups icon will show up with a square white background. It should instead behave like other tray icons and have a transparent background. Other information: See bug #348208 for the original bug report, with patches
Porting to gtkstatusicon (bug 349300) should fix this.
See http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416740.
This one has been solved in GNOME 2.18. Please close.
Closing as I confirm that it now works on my 2.18.1 desktop. Was bug #416740 fixed perhaps?
Bug 416740 is not a duplicate: it's (also) about theming the printer icon used in the tray. It is minor but please let it open.
