GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 360195
Volume setting override after "resource not found" error
Last modified: 2008-02-05 19:14:37 UTC
After a "resource not found" error, Banshee plays the next song at the maximum volume, overriding the setting. The volume bar stays unchanged. To restore the volume level, one just has to move the volume var and it goes back to normal.
I am running Ubuntu Edgy and that same version of Banshee, the one from the official repositories.
Sorry, I didn't explain myself correctly. I am running the Ubuntu Edgy and Banshee 0.11.0-0ubuntu1.
I am running Ubuntu Edgy and have re-created this bug in both the 0.11.0-0ubuntu1 package and also the 0.11.1 source release. The output I get is (0.11.0-0ubuntu1): (Banshee:24953): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_element_set_state: assertion `GST_IS_ELEMENT (element)' failed GST-DEBUG: Resource not found.: gstfilesrc.c(975): gst_file_src_start (): /playbin/source: No such file "/home/alex/music_and_videos/music/misc_crap/TV_Themes_-_Fat_Albert.mp3" Error: [16/10/2006 20:03:39] (Playback Error) - Resource not found. I have confirmed this bug in Ubuntu (https://launchpad.net/products/banshee/+bug/64460) and linked here. Is it alright to confirm here?
I can reproduce it. The volumen gets higher, but also the indicator keeps in the position.
Is this happening in 0.13.1? And when does this "Resource not found" error come up?
Closing this bug as it hasn't received a response. Feel free to reopen it if you can test on a more recent version.
Downstream comment: "To reproduce it just add a song to Banshee's database, then delete/rename using nautilus (or whatever file manager of your choice) and then try to play the song. Banshee will not find it and it will report the "Resource not found" error." ...but I don't get that error for a missing file.
