Description Paolo Benvenuto 2006-10-04 18:11:48 UTC
I'm used to reconcile a cash account all days, and sometimes various times a day. If I reconcile 3 times in a day, next reconciliation will present last reconciliation's date (correct me if I'm wrong).

I consider that when I reconcile 2 or more times in a day, the 2dn and the following reconciliations of that day shouldn't enter in the way gnucash perform the reconciliation date guess. I.e., only one reconciliation a day should be considered in the next reconciliation date guess.
Comment 1 Josh Sled 2007-04-21 21:43:52 UTC
<hampton> The first time he reconciles an account each day, gnucash should guess the ending date. All subsequent reconciliations of the same account in the same day shouldn't guess the ending date.
<hampton> I think dp just need an option to turn off guessing the ending date.
<jsled> Is that generally useful?
<hampton> He's the only person I recall that's complained about the algorithm.
<hampton> no, but that's how he uses the program.
<jsled> Well, if it's not generally useful, we shouldn't have the option.
<andi5> notabug?
<hampton> works for me

We'll just leave it as enhancement. Perhaps a more general-case algorithm presents itself.
Comment 2 Paolo Benvenuto 2007-04-22 01:02:42 UTC
What file is the algorithm implemented, so that I can try to find a solution?
Comment 3 David Hampton 2007-05-06 05:03:57 UTC
I diagree with your statement in comment #1. The only time I ever reconcile twice in the same day is if I've missed a reconciliation. In that case I want gnucash to guess the date each time.
