Description Sebastien Bacher 2006-09-19 16:57:38 UTC
That bug has been opened on https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/gnome-media/+bug/58876

"Distribution: Edgy Knot2
Architecture: i386
Version: 2.14.2-1ubuntu5

It would be nice if gnome-volume-control would remember its last window position on the desktop."

This is either a metacity bug (although I know the maintainer disagrees), or it is a gtk bug, ince gtk should give us a nice API for this. I don't want to use this stupid gconf x/y-window-position value stuff that other people use, it's silly.

Nevertheless, I confirm that this would be nice to have. ;).

this is a matter of policy. I'd suggest to use Devil's pie for such window management problem. I don't think we should save window position.
