GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 356171
Does not report correct accessibility information
Last modified: 2011-07-10 02:25:35 UTC
There are problems with the deskbar-applet's accessibility hierarchy. The text field is okay, but the tree table contains erroneous values and incomplete information. For example, the first three rows contain the same value ("Search Yahoo for ...") instead of contents of the History (and possibly Places) sub-tree. In addition, the level-one tree nodes (History, Places, Web Search) are missing. Use at-poke to verify the problem.
If someone can provide info about solving this issue, i'm clueless on how to add accesibility info to a treeview..
Here is a good place to start: http://developer.gnome.org/projects/gap/. Here is more detailed information: http://accessibility.freestandards.org/~gk4/a11y/ddc06/guide/atkguideddc06.html.
Raphael, Can you tell me what progress you are making with this bug? It's an important accessibility issue. Thanks! Lynn
Is it similar to this: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-orca/+bug/80639 ? That turned out to be just a missing dependency after the move from gnopernicus to Orca.
From the description I would say this is not related to the ubuntu bug mentioned in comment #4. Raphael, are you using Gtktreeview in an unusual way here? Can you observe the same or similar issue using the treeview demo in gtk-demo, with "at-poke" running? Please see comment #1, the at-poke tool (available from gnome svn/cvs, module 'at-poke') should be useful for diagnosis.
deskbar-applet development has been stalled [1]. Maintainers don't have future development plan so i am closing the bugs as WONTFIX. [1] http://mail.gnome.org/archives/desktop-devel-list/2011-June/msg00073.html
