What is the reason for allowing xmlTextConcat work only upon XML_TEXT_NODE and XML_CDATA_SECTION_NODE? IMHO it should be usable for the entire DOMCharacterData hierarchy.

Other information:
I ended up here because the PHP folks claim that the following:
