Description Sebastien Bacher 2006-09-10 12:15:51 UTC
That bug has been opened on https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/58942

"When selecting contacts to send mail (clicking on the "To:" button) evolution defaults to the "Anniversary" category (alphabetic); however, a better UI experience would be to default to "Any Category" or the last selected category.

Info:
Ubuntu Edgy Eft
evolution_2.8.0-0ubuntu1_i386.deb"

hmm... right.
Comment 2 Karsten Bräckelmann 2006-09-12 20:52:01 UTC
Interesting one...

I assume the original reporter and Sebastien are right -- this actually uses the first entry in the drop-down, alphabetically. Never noticed this, since I removed all the default Categories and use my own. For me, "Any Category" is the default... ;)

Considering this to be a UI bug rather than an enhancement.
Comment 3 Steve Castelli 2006-11-16 01:41:07 UTC
Had the same problem. I just deleted the "Anniversary" Category and the "Any Category" becomes the default.
