GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 354798
Option to retrieve PGP keys if they are not in the keyring
Last modified: 2021-05-19 11:31:24 UTC
It would be nice if there was a button in the window that explains that a message couldn't be verified because the signing PGP key is not in the user's keyring, that when pressed would run 'gpg --recv-keys' to retrieve the appropriate key automatically. I am aware that this can be done in gpg.conf however I don't want to automatically download *every* key that I come accross... I tried it for a few weeks and ended up with hundreds of useless keys in my keyring. :)
sounds like bug 205718 to me, what do you think?
Well, I was thinking of retrieving the key from the keyserver network rather than from the message itself. But they are related.
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new enhancement request ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
