Description Sam Morris 2006-09-07 16:21:00 UTC
It would be nice if there was a button in the window that explains that a message couldn't be verified because the signing PGP key is not in the user's keyring, that when pressed would run 'gpg --recv-keys' to retrieve the appropriate key automatically.

I am aware that this can be done in gpg.conf however I don't want to automatically download *every* key that I come accross... I tried it for a few weeks and ended up with hundreds of useless keys in my keyring. :)

sounds like bug 205718 to me, what do you think?
Comment 2 Sam Morris 2006-09-11 12:37:32 UTC
Well, I was thinking of retrieving the key from the keyserver network rather than from the message itself. But they are related.
Comment 3 André Klapper 2021-05-19 11:31:24 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new enhancement request ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
