Documentation
Section: Evolution User Guide 1.1.1.3.3
Select if you want to automatically synchronize remote mail locally.

Correct version:
I don't really know... my technical knowledge on mail is at least average, but I have no idea what this option does. Does it expunge mails automatically? Something else?

Other information:
It's just unclear to me what this option means. Either it should be rephrased in the app (reassign bug) or the help files should be more helpful. :)

Also in Ubuntu: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/59256

Evolution by default downloads only the header information . i.e., From, Subject, Date and few other small things. The body of the message and the attachments will be downloaded only when you click on the mail. Thus you save time and network-usage. This is handy when you dont read all the messages that you get.

When you check this option, evolution while fetching the headers (Subject, recipients, date etc) will fetch the body of the message also. So when you want to read the messages, the time taken will be less. Also, you can fetch the mails connecting online once and read them in Offline, when you have checked this option.

Checked it in Ubuntu, it's fixed (though not yet translated, but that's not the concern).
